Fall has faded away and we’re now enjoying the lovely winter holiday season. There are so many get-togethers to prepare for, which means your appliances need to be in tip top shape for all the festive family treats and meals you are going to prepare for the holidays.

Whether you plan to make your famous Christmas cookies, or your Grandmother’s secret pie recipe, in order to create new memories in the kitchen, your oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, etc. will all need to be in working order. To avoid the coming pressure of the holidays, you should make sure to address any necessary repairs as soon as possible, if not you may not have an enjoyable time trying to prepare your meals.

First, let’s address your oven.

Whether you’re baking a Christmas ham, or a festive holiday loaf, you are definitely going to need to use your oven during the holiday season.  It is important that you inspect all electrical components and parts before using them. The last thing you need to happen during the holidays is to open the oven, and find that nothing has been baking, roasting, or proving at all. There are a number of issues that many of our clients may not be aware of, however if you address possible issues in a timely manner, you’ll have a lower chance of the oven breaking before or on the holiday weekend. If you’ve noticed any problems over the last summer or fall, you should contact an appliance service to have it inspected before the holidays arrive.

Next let’s address your refrigerator and freezer.

One of the best things about a holiday dinner is all of the delicious left overs, not to mention the icy cocktails, decadent desserts, and celebratory cookies. In order for your foodie festivities to go off without a hitch, your fridge and freezer need to be efficient and in good working order. Be prepared for family and friends to open and close the door over and over, and arrange for the inevitable food storage pileup after dinner. Your oven is going to do most of the work before and during dinner, however your microwave will be an essential appliance when reheating and defrosting your leftovers over the following week. Make sure that all of the electrical parts and components are in good shape and if you think your microwave may have a problem, you should not try to repair it yourself, unless you are a skilled repair technician.

When you contact an appliance repair service, your appliances will receive the maintenance and attention it needs to be completely ready for the holiday season. You should not assume that all of your appliances will be in working order when the holidays arrive.
